Default Bonder Advice (PVP)

Hey I'm currently using this build for pvp,

http://www.pvxwiki.com/wiki/Build:Mo/E_SoR_Bonder

Just wondering what the optimum health/energy/armour choices would be. I am currently at 645 health when enchanted and 47 energy. Debating whether to use a shield or not and in which circumstances, any whether my health is overkill compared to my energy.

Any advice would be gladly taken thanks

Personally I wouldn't run a bonder build in PvP -- ever.

Regardless, in addressing your question, I see that as a monk you should be able to manage your energy/regain it, so high energy isn't necessary. You ideally want high health/Armor. Health obviously so you can sustain yourself especially when being spiked, the higher the armor, the better you mitigate damage which translates into health saved/energy saved.

positive points about your build:
-most of the skills are 5energy skills so won't be too much of a energy burden
-GoLE will help when it comes to casting SoR.
-Dismiss Condition synergizes well with the build.

negative points about the build:
-Relying on Life Bond + Balz spirit to recoup energy. This will of course will take away from your natuaral e regen.
-Relying on blessed signet to recoup energy. Slow cast time. It will be interrupted. Even in RA.
-Relying on SoR and Shielding hands to keep you alive. Simply won't cut it, even in RA.

*Note the above comments were based upon RA/TA game play. Which correlates to the above hyperlink.

I usually run a variation on that, taking advantage of the lack of enchantment removal in RA.

SoR/Bonder Mo/x
Prot Prayers - 14
Divine Favor - 13

Mixed Survivor and Radiant insignias, 2 minor monk runes, 1 superior vigor, 1 Recovery, and either vitae or attunement.

Reversal of Fortune
Shield of Absorbtion
Shield of Regeneration
Dismiss Condition
Deny Hexes
Blessed Signet
Life Bond
Balthazar's Spirit

Though lighter on energy management than the Mo/E build, this has far more protection and healing abilities, as well as being able to remove hexes quickly with Deny Hexes + Blessed Signet. I find it works very well, aside from the occasional time I go up against an enemy with spammable enchantment removal.

Always. Bring. A. Shield. You don't need the extra energy unless you're actually casting (and don't have enought energy in your shield set), and 8 passive armor (+10 against one type, which you can swap so it's pretty much always the correct type) is too nice not to have.
+energy armor is bad. If you need more energy bring energy management skills, and for emergencies there's always your +30/-2 set. If you have to stick around in that set for so long that the extra energy from your armor would have mattered you've already lost the game.
If you can reliably meet the condition, armor with a +10 (for whatever) is best. In a bonder's case, I think +10 while enchanted is the best choice.
More importantly, I would never ever run a bonder in PvP. Mirror of Disenchantment is too common in every build (because most builds otherwise get owned by aegis), and messes with your build bad. Secondly, you're probably going to waste 2 seconds every 10 seconds casting Blessed Signet. A signet with such a long cast time is just too easy to Dshot (burning arrow rangers are too common too), and with bonds, balthazar's spirit and blessed signet you only have 5 skill slots left for protection and healing. That's quite tight.
There are just a lot of better monk options out there.

What you really want is to make the best use of your 4 weapon sets.

The first thing you want is a set of HP armour.
Take minor divine, minor protection and 3 vitae runes.

Weapon set 1 for hiding lots of energy - 650HP, 25en
PvP spear of Fortitude + "Brawn over Brains"
PvP shield of fortitude.

Weapon set 2, conisder this your base set. - 650HP, 35en
PvP spear of Fortitude + "I have the power"
PvP shield of fortitude.

Weapon set 3, temporary energy boost just incase things get a bit tight - 650HP, 40en
PvP Holy Staff 30/30

Weapon set 4, high energy switch for when things go badly wrong -
This one is personal preference, I use a 30/+5 staff for 620HP, 45en, but I know others like to have an option even higher.
